Catalog No. AE296
Circa: 1890
Price: Sold
Orientation: Horizontal
Condition: Excellent
Provenance: Chicago, Illinois
Dimensions: Size of glass is 57" x 16.75"
Description: What makes this window special is the nature of its glass. The yellow-to-gold field glass has a wind-swept, gossamer look that is very distinctive, and is the result of hand-rolling different colors into a single sheet. This glass is thinly-rolled and has a large degree of translucency. The greenish glass in the center section has similar qualities. Because of such unique glass, the window will appear differently as the light conditions change throughout the day.
The blue grapes are three-dimensional, half-round jewels. They appear to be illuminated from within as they shine.
A quality modern frame surrounds this completely restored window. This item matches a smaller window, AE295, in our inventory.
