Description: This window is richly colored and textured, having been made at the height of America’s most exciting period of opalescent glass exploration. The field glass is a fiery opalized streaky ripple in varied shades of caramel. Other rippled textures make up the majority of the mosaic. The deep red hand-faceted jewels are powerfully executed. Of note are the central nine cast glass "Owl’s Head" jewels, made in striking scarlet. These jewels are unique to my experience. What I know is that they are wonderful and mysterious.
